Authorities have confirmed that fifteen illegal foreign workers were arrested during an enforcement operation at a solar farm project site.
The raid was carried out following intelligence reports of undocumented individuals being employed at the facility. Officers from the Immigration Department, assisted by other enforcement agencies, conducted inspections and apprehended the workers who failed to produce valid identification or work permits.
All individuals are now in custody and will be investigated under the Immigration Act for entering and working in the country without proper documentation. The contractor responsible for hiring them may also face legal action for employing illegal labour.
Officials stated that such operations are part of ongoing efforts to combat the exploitation of undocumented workers and to ensure that companies comply with labour and immigration laws.
The case remains under investigation, and authorities have urged employers to prioritize legal hiring practices to safeguard both workers and the nation’s security.
