What is The Netherlands PR?

Permanent residency allows non-EU/EEA citizens to live and work in The Netherlands for the long term. With a PR, you also take one step closer to Dutch citizenship, which comes with additional benefits such as social security—provided you meet the required conditions.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for a Netherlands PR, applicants must meet these requirements:

  • Must be a non-EU/EEA citizen.

  • Have continuously lived in The Netherlands for at least 5 years with a valid residence permit for a non-temporary purpose.

  • Provide proof of a stable and sufficient income of €1,657 (around ₹1,71,144).

  • Hold valid health insurance for all applicants.

  • Maintain a primary residence in the Netherlands during the 5 years.

  • Meet all conditions of the residence permit.

  • Have no record of posing a public threat.

  • Successfully pass the civic integration exam.

  • Employment contracts and salary slips

  • Proof of health insurance

  • Civic integration exam certificate

  • Residence permit

  • Proof of residence

How to Apply for Netherlands PR

  1. Check eligibility and collect all necessary documents.

  2. Apply online through the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) website or submit in person at an IND desk.

  3. Pay the application fee of €243 (around ₹25,098) — non-refundable.

  4. Wait for processing, which may take 6 months or longer.
