Individuals seeking a Saudi Arabian work visa must now undergo pre-verification of their professional and academic qualifications. This new requirement supports Saudi Arabia’s efforts to enhance its labour sector and maintain high standards, aligning with the Vision 2030 initiative, says a TOI report.

Indians make up the second-largest expatriate group in Saudi Arabia, with over 2.4 million workers, according to India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). In total, more than two million Indians are employed across Gulf countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, and Kuwait.
The pre-verification process was proposed six months ago to control the number of incoming workers, address the limited capacity of training centers, and ensure high professional standards in the labor market.
