The UK Home Office has announced a comprehensive revision of visa and sponsorship fees, effective from April 9, 2025. These adjustments will impact a broad spectrum of applicants, including Skilled Worker visa holders, sponsors, and individuals seeking settlement or citizenship in the UK.

Key Changes:

  • Certificate of Sponsorship (Cos): Fees for Skilled Workers, Global Business Mobility – Senior or Specialist Workers, Ministers of Religion, and International Sportspersons (over 12 months) will rise from £239 to £525.

  • Skilled Worker Visa Applications:

    • For up to three years (outside the UK):

      • Previous fee: £719

      • New fee: £769

    • For up to five years (outside the UK):

      • Previous fee: £1,420

      • New fee: £1,519

    • For up to three years (inside the UK):

      • Previous fee: £827

      • New fee: £885

    • For up to five years (inside the UK):

      • Previous fee: £1,636

      • New fee: £1,751

  • Sponsor License Fees: For medium or large sponsors, fees will increase by £103, from £1,476 to £1,579.

  • Settlement and Citizenship:

    • Indefinite Leave to Remain (Settlement) applications will see an increase from £2,885 to £3,029.

    • Naturalization (British Citizenship) fees will rise from £1,500 to £1,605.

These changes signify higher costs for businesses sponsoring workers and increased financial obligations for migrants aiming to settle in the UK. Employers are advised to incorporate these adjustments into their recruitment budgets, especially as the government continues to tighten immigration regulations and enhance scrutiny on sponsor compliance
