Police were contacted at around 3.45pm on Wednesday, June 13, with reports of three people running from the back of a lorry in Cambridge Road, Ugley.

They attended and arrested a man, 23, who identified himself as Ethiopian, and two boys, 17, on the B1383 at 4.10pm for immigration offences.

Police said they were passed to Home Office officials.

A spokesman for Immigration Enforcement said they were contacted by Essex Police on Wednesday after officers attended the incident.

The Home Office said they will now progress the cases in accordance with the immigration rules and the two minors have been referred to social services.

The spokesman said: “Where someone is found to have no right to remain in the UK, we will take action to remove them.

“Immigration Enforcement is an operational directorate within the Home Office responsible for enforcing.”
