A celebration showing solidarity with people who have been forced to flee their homes will take place in Glasgow next month, welcoming refugees to the city.
The public event, led by Oxfam, Global Justice Now Scotland the Scottish Refugee Council, takes place on June 20.
Participants will form a massive human chain around George Square, in front of Glasgow City Chambers, to ‘show the world that Scotland Welcomes Refugees’.
The same event drew crowds to George Square last year , with live performances throughout from the likes of SambaYaBamba.
Speaking at the 2017 celebration, Gary Christie of the Scottish Refugee Council said: “Millions of people’s lives continue to be torn apart by war and terrorism and we are proud that Scotland offers a place of safety to a small number of people in need.
“We’re also here to pay tribute to the courage and strength of those men, women and children who are rebuilding their lives in Scotland with the support of communities across the country.”
